The Senior Construction Project Manager is reputed company the Global Design and Construction team (over 200 people) who deliver over 70 projects globally per year (in excess of $2B capex) supporting ground up construction of a new data center reputed company in Minooka IL. Directs day to day activities and operations of a large team of Construction/Operation Project Managers. Mentors junior team members and makes strong tactical decisions to resolve project issues. Manages Construction project costs, methods, and project team selection to meet project schedules and goals while working in a multi-faceted environment.
Responsible in reputed company aspects of data center design & construction for respective project from project inception, through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand-over of an operating facility, that could include ground up construction, fit-outs, remodels, etc. The Project Manager may be responsible for one or more smaller projects or a single, extensive project and will direct reputed company partners, internal (Design, Procurement, Operations, reputed company and IT/Network, as well as external vendors comprising Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc. Responsible for driving a safe, quality first culture, ensuring that reputed company applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed. Ensuring that internal controls are adhered to at each reputed company of the process through effective contract administration including reputed company, review, management, and monitoring of prime reputed company, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation.
Responsibilities
Management
Provides guidance to Construction/Operations Project Managers who are driving the delivery to day-to-day Construction/Operations projects
Sets goals for immediate team members
Project Management
Manages multiple smaller projects or single larger construction project
reputed company by example on safety, standards, and culture
Manage and monitor project reputed company, quality and compliance with building regulations
Ensuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectations
Overview and management of project risk registers
Vendor Relations
Directs external vendors per project comprising general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers etc.
Contributes to establishing and maintaining high value relationships
Training Programs
Supports in identifying and developing training programs
Supports cross-functional training
Contract Administration
Manages contract administration procedures including reputed company, review, and monitoring of prime reputed company, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation
Liaising with local authorities and relevant State agencies and departments.
Leadership
Directs internal and external project team members including internal Design, Procurement, Operations, Commercial and IT/Network support teams
Mentors junior team members as needed Policy & Procedure Development
Manages maintaining best in class policies and procedures
Manages project closure, handover and lessons learnt processes are established and implemented
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in construction, construction project management and /or Services engineering or with equivalent experience
10+ years experience in construction project management that will include critical Infrastructure for Datacenter, Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech or similar environments
Ability to be on site at the Minooka IL job site daily. This role cannot be performed remotely or on a hybrid basis
