Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and self‑motivated Senior Analyst – Content Valuation & Analytics to join our Content Valuation & Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing arm‑length pricing models, preparing quarterly financial deliverables, and delivering actionable insights that drive strategic decisions for arenaflex’s extensive TV content library. The position is primarily hybrid, with the flexibility to work from home while maintaining a collaborative presence in our Burbank, CA office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain arm‑length, market‑based pricing frameworks for both scripted and unscripted content across arenaflex’s streaming services and linear networks.
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly close and financial planning deliverables that support senior leadership in evaluating content performance and profitability.
  • Consolidate regional content valuation submissions, identify variance drivers, and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior management.
  • Assist in the development of long‑range pricing strategies and multi‑year forecasting models, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for finance stakeholders—including DTC Finance, Studio Finance, Partnerships, and Controllership—providing timely analysis and support.
  • Partner with finance teams to identify process efficiencies, improve data integrity, and implement best‑in‑class valuation methodologies.
  • Curate, synthesize, and analyze large data sets (including Nielsen ratings, critical review scores, and industry awards) to uncover trends that influence licensing and distribution decisions.
  • Maintain and continuously refine content performance dashboards, ensuring they reflect the most current metrics for primetime, cable, and streaming applications.
  • Participate in cross‑functional ad‑hoc projects that broaden exposure to content distribution, licensing, and emerging market dynamics.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent experience in financial analysis, valuation, or related finance functions; 2+ years of experience at a top‑tier professional services firm (Big 4) is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of complex analytical projects from inception to delivery.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a track record of identifying, prioritizing, and executing process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship‑building abilities, capable of influencing senior stakeholders across finance, content, and legal teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas (INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, VSTACK, nested IF statements), and financial modeling techniques.
  • Experience working with large data sets and analytical tools; comfort with SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a quantitative discipline; a Master’s degree or CPA designation is advantageous.
  • Passion for the entertainment industry and a deep understanding of content licensing, distribution, and market dynamics.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Familiarity with media‑specific metrics (e.g., Nielsen ratings, Rotten Tomatoes scores, award recognitions) and how they impact valuation.
  • Exposure to contract negotiation and royalty accounting within a media or entertainment context.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong storytelling ability—translating quantitative findings into compelling narratives for non‑technical audiences.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to dissect complex financial data, spot patterns, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Understanding of how content valuation influences broader business strategy, including licensing, acquisition, and partnership decisions.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively with cross‑functional teams, fostering trust, and driving consensus.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating shifting priorities, evolving market conditions, and emerging technologies.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills, especially when presenting to senior leadership.

  • Attendance at industry conferences, workshops, and internal knowledge‑sharing sessions.
  • A clear promotion pathway toward Manager, Director, and eventually senior leadership roles within the finance organization.
