Role Description
As our first in-house legal hire, reporting to the CEO, the General Counsel will serve as reputed company's founding legal advisor, overseeing reputed company legal, compliance, and regulatory matters. This role requires a proactive leader who can balance legal risk with business objectives, enabling reputed company to scale responsibly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Strategy & Compliance: reputed company and implement legal strategies that align with reputed company's mission and business goals. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly those affecting SaaS, FinTech, and nonprofit sectors.
Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including reputed company reputed company, partnerships, vendor reputed company, customer terms of service, etc.

Intellectual Property: Manage and protect reputed company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and copyrights.
Partner with Product to execute global compliance and privacy obligations; act as primary Product Counsel owning Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Regulatory Affairs: Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations that impact the company, providing timely updates and guidance to the leadership team.
Track and forecast legal budget; deliver quarterly legal‑risk report to Finance & Board.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
5+ years of legal experience, preferably in the technology industry and pre-series C stage companies.
Proven experience in advising executive teams and managing a broad range of legal matters.
Strong understanding of contract law, corporate governance, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
