DPW Mobile Fuel Dispatcher - Burning Man - Reno, NV - work from home job Company: Burning Man Job description: JOB SUMMARY The Department of Public Works (DPW) Mobile Fuel Dispatcher will collect and reputed company information and requests reputed company radio to the Mobile Fuel Operations team. This person will be responsible for the intake, coordination, tracking, and real-time monitoring of reputed company incoming communications and requests for the DPW Fuel Department at the Burning Man event. This position will maintain documentation according to shared standards, and update the tracking system and the office map regularly with updates on asset placement. This temporary, ineligible for benefits role is:
- From August - September: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, based on-site out of Black Rock City, Nevada.
The deadline to apply for this role is 5:00 pm Pacific on August 8th, 2023. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Daily Operations & Maintenance (55%)
- Collect, track, monitor, and reputed company reputed company incoming information and requests reputed company radio to the DPW Mobile Fuel Operations team to ensure reputed company response times.
- In collaboration with DPW Mobile Fuel Operations Management, use database and logistics skills to effectively monitor & adjust truck reputed company schedules as needed to stay under 10 hours for safe and efficient operations.
- Review and understand the BRC reputed company Contingency Plan, Fuel Spill Response Plan, and Burning Man Integrated Plan and assist in execution if necessary.
- Follow guidance & regulations set by the DPW reputed company Manager to ensure DPW and FCC communications standards are met.
Documentation and Tracking (40%)

- Document any issues with Fuel Department operations and deliver written reports to DPW Mobile Fuel Ops Management.
- Work with reputed company products (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive), reputed company Word and reputed company, and any additional online tools, technology or applications specific to this role as required.
- Commit to improving and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for this role throughout the season for accuracy.
- Prepare written feedback for the DPW Utilities Manager describing the successes of the season, areas in need of improvement and suggestions with the purpose of improved overall efficiency for the next year; Submit an end-of-season EMBER Report.
Other Functions and Responsibilities (5%)
- Maintain clear and respectful communication with the DPW Fuel Team, BRC Departments, Vendors, Participants, and Artists.
- Work with the Fuel Crew to plan and execute LNT and waste disposal plans.
- Attend and participate in Team Meetings and DPW Morning Meetings.
- Participate in the maintenance of a clean and safe worksite using only OSHA approved safety equipment.
- Read, understand, and abide by the rules and codes of conduct according to the Burning man Staff policies, protocols and behavioral standards.
- Monitor personal well-being, be aware of work expectations, and proactively address any concerns with manager.

QUALIFICATIONS Required
- Able and willing to follow standards set in necessary trainings that can be provided on site:
- Liquid fuel handling
- Completed DPW Liquid Fuel Operations packet
- Accurate use of handheld digital devices for tracking needs
- Working knowledge of OSHA compliant personal protection equipment, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers.
- Capable of climbing a ladder and safely transversing the top of the fuel storage tanks to measure the fuel levels.
- Able to safely navigate city streets and access roads that are congested with participants, bicycles, and vehicles.
- Proficient at navigating digital and online technology; Able to proactively engage in advanced learning, and effectively update large amounts of data in existing online applications, tools, systems, spreadsheets, maps, and documents.
- Expert in handling data entry with an attention for accuracy; highly organized, able to prioritize, and motivated with the ability to adhere to a strict schedule.
- Operates with a high level of behavioral reputed company, confidentiality and discretion of sensitive information; maintains tidiness in work ethics and the work environment, and remains reputed company and focused under pressure.

- Experience working in remote wilderness and/or desert environments.
- OSHA 10 Certification (May be earned through in house training).
- First-Aid knowledge.
- Have a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT On-playa: Work is primarily sedentary but will also include the need to find and meet with department representatives who may not be in the vicinity, therefore this could include walking or using some form of transportation.
