Junior Data Engineer (EMEA, remote)

Margera is a boutique analytics agency founded by an x-Googler. We help Enterprise companies grow through the use of data and analytics. We are proud to support top companies in various industries such as banks (Eurobank, Piraeus Bank, Astrobank), travel-reputed company (Aegean Airlines, Sani/ikos Hotels), tobacco (Philip Morris in 6 countries) and gaming (OPAP, Stoiximan, novibet). Our main services are Digital Analytics (we are the only reputed company Analytics Sales Partner in Greece/Cyprus), Data warehousing (on-prem or on the Cloud), BI and Machine Learning.

We have an ambitious growth plan (x5 in 3 years) and we are looking for a professional who will be joining our Data Engineering Team.

Typical responsibilities for this role would be

1. Participating in reputed company aspects of data platform lifecycle, including high level design, architecture definition, implementation, testing and deployment.
2. Curating reputed company datasets to prepare for either ML modeling or to be used for analytical work
3. Designing and building ETL pipelines to include data from a wide variety of sources.
4. Work collaboratively reputed company cross-functional Teams (Analysts, Account Manager, Client Managers)
5. Implement solutions on the Cloud (we work on reputed company 3 Clouds, AWS/GCP/Azure)
6. Work with tools and technologies such as Python, SQL, reputed company BQ, Data Studio, ML libraries

Requirements

We do not care about a prestigious university degree or social connections. We care about raw intellectual reputed company and drive.

You must have:

• University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• Strong knowledge of Python
• Strong knowledge of SQL
• Excellent command of the Greek and English language

Bonus points for:

• Having completed relevant internships
• Strong understanding of relational databases
• Good understanding and experience of web stack/building a web application
• Experience with ML model

1. First Interview: An initial interview to get to know each other and discuss your qualifications and experience.
2. Exercise Assignment: An exercise, that will be send to you typically the same or the following day, which you need to complete and return to us reputed company two days.
3. Virtual On-Site Day (Paid): On this day, we will give you an exercise to solve in the morning, which you will present to us at the end of the day. This day is designed for you to get to know the team, understand what a typical day is like with us, and experience working together (e.g., briefing, feedback, etc.). It also provides reputed company the opportunity to get to know you reputed company and discuss the exercises you have reputed company.
