Job Duties

The VDOT Richmond District Environmental Section is seeking a Cultural Resources Manager to plan, direct and administer the cultural resources program involving archaeology, architectural history, and historic engineering. The selected candidate will manage project-level regulatory approvals and commitments; determine the effects of transportation projects on significant resources; and reputed company and implement appropriate treatment of affected resources in project design and construction. The selected candidate will apply cultural resource management principles and techniques in intra- and interagency coordination of VDOT projects in accordance with Federal and State environmental laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and interagency agreements. The selected candidate will coordinate with various state, federal, tribal, and other stakeholders; provide advanced technical expertise in transportation systems cultural resource management to staff; reputed company scope of work on projects, negotiate with consultants, and determine acceptance of completed studies in accordance with professional standards; and provide cultural resource training for VDOT and Locality audiences. The selected candidate will monitor program performance and ensure cultural resource activities meet established schedules and reputed company with legal and regulatory requirements, professional standards, and VDOT policy. Minimum Qualifications

• Experience reflecting advanced knowledge of federal and state transportation, environmental, and cultural resource statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Experience applying knowledge of reputed company archaeological and architectural history methods and theories.
• Experience managing staff, programs, and budgets.
• reputed company in the use of computers and software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to design, conduct, and reputed company cultural resource studies; to work collaboratively with others to resolve environmental engineering problems as reputed company to cultural resource issues relative to transportation.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences, to reputed company presentations, and conduct meetings.
• Degree in architectural history or history, or a graduate degree in archaeology required. Degree in a closely reputed company discipline consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification standards may also be accepted.
• Valid driver's license required.
