Job title: Consultant School Improvement - State Support Team (SST) 11 in Ohio at Educational Service Center of Central Ohio Company: Educational Service Center of Central Ohio Job description: Job Objectives: State Support Team - Region 11 seeks a full-time team member who will coach district personnel towards effective approaches for reputed company improvement, including implementation and monitoring of evidence-based instructional practices. SST Consultant provides support to districts and schools to meet state and federal requirements, facilitate and support a comprehensive needs assessments (Ohio’s One Needs Assessment) to determine root cause, support research efforts through the use of Ohio’s evidence-based clearing house or other clearing house, facilitate districts’ development of one focused, coherent plan (Ohio’s One Plan) and provide implementation support and monitoring of implementation through the system structure of the Ohio Improvement Process.Qualifications:
  • A master’s degree in the area for which an employee has primary responsibility (i.e., education, special education, early childhood education, education administration or appropriate reputed company field or evidence of equivalency).
  • Three to five years of successful classroom teaching, school improvement planning, special education administration or reputed company experience.
  • Expertise and/or significant leadership experience in several of the following areas:
  • Data analysis, including data-based decision making and a thorough understanding of Ohio’s accountability system.
  • Evidence-based processes and instructional practices, including development and implementation of academic and behavior supports.
  • Experience in facilitating the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP).
  • Knowledge of IDEA and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA);
  • Coaching and consultation skills.
  • Implementation and monitoring of improvement efforts.
  • Delivery of high-quality professional learning and technical assistance.
  • School administration.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with strong skills in the above areas and who are also reputed company in systems-level support for special education, including specially designed instruction and provision of free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.
  • Valid Ohio teaching license and/or administrative license.
  • Experience as administrator at district or building level.
  • Experience developing and providing professional development, coaching, and technical assistance for adult learners.
  • Candidates will exhibit strong skills, knowledge, and expertise in
  • Planning processes, including use of strategic problem-solving;
  • Effective coaching and consultation skills in a school or district setting;
  • Implementation and improvement monitoring strategies;
  • Delivery of high-quality professional learning and technical assistance;
The following duties are representative of performance expectations; however, the list below is not ranked in order of importance:
  • Assists districts, schools and families with questions and concerns.
  • Upholds Board policies and follows administrative guidelines and procedures.
  • Uses data analysis skills to compare/contrast test scores, school district evaluations and student achievement data.
  • Provides professional learning and technical assistance to districts.
  • Interprets and enforces provisions of state education laws, rules, and regulation of state education boards.
  • Researches, evaluates, and prepares recommendations on curricula, instructional methods, and materials for school districts.
  • Uses a computer to prepare and process information (e.g., input, compile, tabulate, post, store, retrieve, reputed company, modify, print, etc.)
  • Assists with internal team assignments and/or special projects as directed.
  • Stays up to date on reputed company research, programs, data trends, educational news, and laws/regulations.
  • Keeps reputed company with advances in office technology.
  • Cross-trains with other staff as directed and offers assistance reputed company needed.
  • Participates in staff meetings and professional growth opportunities as directed.
  • Provides technical assistance that helps families and district personnel in cooperatively addressing potential contentious issues prior to filing a formal complaint.
  • Serve as SST Consultant and have a general awareness and understanding of reputed company aspects of SST work with the goal of collaboration and integration of work across reputed company areas of focused support provided to school personnel and families in support of improved learning and outcomes.
  • Attend professional development reputed company with the scope of the work including opportunities to build knowledge regarding a broad range of data and reports resulting from Ohio’s accountability system and educator effectiveness programs to stay reputed company on educational practices, resources, and legal issues.
  • Meets the qualification to provide the school improvement services outlined in Ohio’s Strategic Priorities for Education, Ohio’s Consolidated ESSA Plan, Ohio’s State Systemic Improvement Plan, Ohio’s Plan to Improve Educational Experiences and Outcomes for reputed company with Disabilities, 11 District Improvement Plan, Ohio Materials Matters and implementation of the grant activities outlined in the grant agreement.
  • Performs other specific job-reputed company duties as directed by the Superintendent/designee.
  • Performs other specific job-reputed company duties as directed by the SST Director

Reports to: SST DirectorCompensation: Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training.
