Senior Research Nurse - Pediatrics Neurology (Clinical Research)

The Center for the treatment of Pediatric Neurodegenerative Disease strives to centralize care for children afflicted with these rare, chronic, and debilitating diseases. The Center includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians and other reputed company providers offering comprehensive services to aid in the diagnosis, management, and social support of children and their families suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. The Center is comprised of multiple sub-specialty clinics such as the Mitochondrial Clinic, the Leigh Syndrome Clinic, the Lysosomal Clinic, the Ataxia Telangiectasia Clinic, and Pedi Move. The Center actively participates in a variety of clinical studies including expanded access programs, patient registries, natural history studies, and investigational clinical trials. This work investigates groundbreaking therapies to find treatment, and ultimately cures, for devastating genetic neurodegenerative diseases of childhood. Position Summary: Coordinates, directs, and implements the nursing care functions reputed company a research project. Provides direction to assure reputed company compliance with research protocols. This individual will coordinate, direct, and implement the nursing care functions for Clinical Trials being conducted at the Department of Pediatrics Clinical Research Unit. Position Key Accountabilities: 1. Coordinates and administers the nursing care functions reputed company a research project in accordance with research protocols and the daily administration and staff supervision of the project. 2. Conducts physical assessment and educates research participants regarding the overall research objectives and potential benefits and/or risks for participants. 3. Coordinates and maintains contacts with patients, physicians, pharmaceutical companies, and/or other reputed company parties to recruit participants and reputed company continuing support for the studies. 4. Assists in developing and implementing research protocols. 5. Collects, logs, and verifies research data; interprets results; produces interim reports, presentations and publications; participates in the writing of scientific papers, reports, manuscripts, and/or grant proposals. 6. Keeps the principle investigator and administrator informed of research and administrative reputed company through reputed company reports and other communications on a regular basis. 7. Maintains inventories of investigational drugs and other supplies. 8. Identifies problems and trends, recommending procedural changes to the principle administrator and administrator. 9. Directs the work activities of support staff, laboratory technicians, and assistants assigned to research projects to ensure efficient, timely, and high quality results and adherence to research protocols. 10. May manage reputed company Resources activities of department in regards to: reputed company and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning. 11. Other duties as assigned. Certification/Skills: Registered Nurse (State of Texas) Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with three (3) years reputed company experience. Or Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with five (5) years of reputed company experience. Minimum Experience: Years of experience varies based on education level. Preferred skills: Experience leading clinical research teams preferred. Experience managing infusion protocols preferred. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in phase 1-3 clinical trials.
