Microsoft 365 Architect • 4-year contract* Hybrid: 4x a week onsite in Plano, TX Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the technology industry, is seeking an experienced O365 Architect to join their team! This Microsoft 365 Architect will lead the strategy, architecture, and engineering efforts for a large-scale M365 environment. This role requires a deep technical understanding of SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Microsoft’s Digital Productivity suite, as well as the ability to mentor and guide a DevOps team.

Key Responsibilities

M365 Architecture & Engineering (50/50 split) • Architect, design, and implement M365 solutions with a focus on SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and PowerShell automation. • Lead and guide technical resources, ensuring high-quality implementations and adherence to best practices. • Review team deliverables, provide mentorship, and ensure smooth execution of architectural strategies. Collaboration & Productivity Solutions • Develop strategies for deploying and optimizing Yammer, CoPilot, Loop, and Clipjam to enhance user collaboration. • Define and enforce governance policies around Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to optimize security and compliance. • Build and automate workflows using PowerPlatform within Teams. Licensing & Cost Optimization • Assess and optimize M365 licensing to ensure cost-effectiveness. • Develop plans for migrating, consolidating, or re-architecting existing solutions to align with Microsoft’s evolving pricing and licensing structures. Integration & Security • Ensure seamless integration with existing enterprise infrastructure, leveraging ADFS (nice to have), Azure AD, and Conditional Access policies. • Implement best practices for data security, compliance, and access controls across all M365 services. Technical Skills & Experience • 12-15 years of experience in M365 architecture and engineering in large enterprise environments. • Expert-level knowledge of SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and PowerShell scripting. • Hands-on experience with M365 collaboration tools like Yammer, CoPilot, Loop, and Clipjam. • Strong background in M365 licensing and cost management. • Experience working in a DevOps model, handling change management, release cycles, and automation. • Nice to Have: Experience with ADFS, enterprise-scale migrations, and PowerPlatform for Teams automation.
