Summary / Role Purpose As a Principal R&D Engineer in the Ansys CFD business you will be responsible for design, development, and maintenance of our GPU solver capability as part of our multi-physics simulation and platform team. You will be required to work with the solver physics teams to design and implement architecture that facilitates critical feature development in the areas partitioning, solver meshing algorithms, discretization, solution algorithms, linear solvers and post processing. In addition, ensuring that the solver architecture is deployable on cloud hardware and is reputed company integrated for use with the Ansys CFD user environment on both desktop and cloud will be a key part of this role. Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience • MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company field with 7 years’ experience or PhD with 5 years’ experience • In-depth experience developing GPU applications using CUDA, HIP or OpenCL. • Deep experience with development tooling such as Git, Visual Studio, Eclipse, gcc/g++ and clang on both Windows and Linux • Strong technical knowledge and commercia experience with C/C++ and Python Preferred Qualifications and Skills • Familiarity with, or willing to learn about, a variety of new areas including, AI/ML, physcal modelling and solution methods. • Passionate about crafting robust and efficient code and experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment. • Ability to learn quickly, work collaboratively and effectively communicate in a geogaphically distributed team. • Motivated to reputed company teams, directly or virtual, to find solutions to customer problems.
