In this role, you will construct, install, maintain and repair diverse wireless two-way radio and microwave network systems for your assigned service area. You will support and coordinate the communication systems for customers including our agency, Oregon State Police, the Fire Marshalls office and more. This role is similar to radio technician, electronics technician, communications technician, radio service, tower technician, telecommunications specialist, broadcast technologist, radio frequency (RF) signalman, power systems control reputed company and land mobile radio service positions. A day in the life: Evaluate situations and resolve questions or customer inquiries. Install, test, replace or repair a variety of cable types. Review customers operational needs and requests. Identify, prepare and provide on-site training for customers. Manage and coordinate the installation of mobile radio equipment. Maintain systems and equipment to ensure peak operating condition. Travel to remote mountaintop locations in deep snow and cold weather conditions to repair, install and provide emergency restoration of equipment or systems. Climb and work on towers and antenna structures up to 300 feet above ground and work with high voltages.
