[Remote] Senior Specialist Legal Editor, Corporate and M&A
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Thomson Reuters is a leading provider of answers across law, tax, compliance, government, and media. They are seeking an experienced corporate and M&A lawyer to join the Practical Law Corporate and M&A team, where the role involves creating and maintaining legal content and supporting the development of AI-powered legal solutions.
Responsibilities
- Research, write and maintain clear, current, and practical legal content aligned with market practice and customer needs, and business objectives
- Review and edit content written by others, whether by colleagues or external expert contributors
- Keep up to date with legal, practice and market developments to ensure content remains accurate, relevant and aligned with business objectives
- Use your legal expertise to support the development of customer-focused Thomson Reuters' AI-powered legal solutions
- Use your legal expertise and editorial skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools
- Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and industry groups to ensure content reflects current market practice
- Use your specialist legal knowledge to assist the wider Thomson Reuters team, working with product management, sales, marketing, and technology functions where necessary
Skills
- Juris Doctor with a current license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction
- At least 8 years' experience of working as a corporate and M&A lawyer in a law firm or in-house with a track record of leading complex M&A deals
- Extensive experience in corporate law (entity formation and ongoing governance), with in-depth knowledge of the Delaware General Corporation Law, Delaware Limited Liability Company Act, Delaware Limited Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act, and Delaware case law
- Extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (public or private), including experience drafting and negotiating M&A agreements and other corporate forms and standard practice materials, as well as advising boards and senior management on related matters
- Strong writing skills, and a passion for writing about legal practice accurately, concisely and in plain English
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively independently and in teams
- Strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilize various tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy
- Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies
- A curious mindset, including about the increasing intersection of AI and legal practice, adaptable and open to change
- Experience of using AI tools in legal work
