[Remote] Director of Finance
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Petite Keep is a rapidly growing DTC brand focused on reimagining keepsakes. They are seeking a commercially minded Director of Finance to own financial infrastructure, including FP&A, inventory strategy, and operations forecasting, while connecting financial data to business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own FP&A across the business — forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling
- Build and maintain a rolling cash forecast and cash runway model
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet
- Partner with the CEO and department heads on financial planning and business performance reviews
- Track and improve key unit economics — CAC, CLTV, contribution margin, COGS, and fulfillment costs
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and bring them forward with clear recommendations
- Own inventory planning, forecasting, and reconciliation across the business
- Build demand planning models that align inventory investment to growth targets
- Partner with Operations and Merchandising on purchasing decisions, lead times, and launch readiness
- Monitor inventory health — turns, aging, write-offs — and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure inventory accuracy and reporting integrity across systems
- Own operational forecasting in partnership with Operations Team
- Model staffing scenarios, capacity plans, and operational cost structures
- Support budgeting and resource planning across operations, fulfillment, and production
- Build reporting that gives leadership real-time visibility into operational performance
- Identify cost efficiencies and drive cross-functional improvements
- Own the day-to-day relationship with our outsourced accounting firm
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial close processes
- Manage banking relationships, vendor payment terms, and cash management
- Build internal financial controls and compliance infrastructure that scales with the business
- Own and optimize the financial tech stack — accounting software and reporting tools
- Oversee legal function including vendor contracts, IP, employment matters, etc
- Manage outside counsel relationships and ensure the business is appropriately protected
- Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks as the business grows
- Own contract review and execution process across the organization
- Provide financial and operational support across departments on an as-needed basis
- Own cross-functional reporting cadences and executive-level dashboards
- Support the CEO on ad hoc analysis, business planning, and strategic initiatives
Skills
- 6+ years of experience in finance, with meaningful DTC or consumer brand experience
- Strong FP&A foundation — you are comfortable owning a forecast and defending it
- Deep experience in inventory strategy and demand planning
- Experience managing or partnering with an outsourced accounting function
- Comfortable with banking, vendor relationships, and financial controls
- Deep understanding of unit economics, contribution margin analysis, and operational cost structures
- Systems fluency — QuickBooks; strong in Excel or Google Sheets
- Clear communicator who can translate financial complexity for a non-finance audience
