With a culture built on respect, integrity, accountability, and relentless curiosity, arenaflex invests heavily in its people, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives drive breakthrough ideas.

Our Cloud Platform—arenaflex Cloud—serves millions of customers across industries, from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. As the demand for seamless, high‑performance digital experiences grows, arenaflex’s Customer Experience (CXP) team stands at the forefront, ensuring that every interaction with our platform is smooth, predictable, and delightful.

Why This Role Matters

In the world of cloud computing, customers stake their reputation and business continuity on the reliability of the services they consume. At arenaflex, we view each customer as a partner whose success directly reflects our own. The Senior Customer Experience Engineer you will become is a pivotal guardian of that success. You will design, implement, and evolve Service Level Objective (SLO) monitoring frameworks that give our customers confidence, visibility, and control over their most critical workloads.

This role sits within the high‑impact Observability Squad, a fast‑moving, startup‑like unit inside arenaflex Cloud Engineering. You will collaborate with product engineers, reliability teams, and customers to translate business goals into measurable reliability targets, then build the tooling and processes that keep those targets on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Partnership: Work directly with customers to define, negotiate, and document Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) that align with their business outcomes.
  • Instrumentation & Measurement: Embed instrumentation in customer‑facing code and platform services to capture SLO‑related metrics, ensuring accurate, low‑latency data collection.
  • Automation & Remediation: Design and develop automated detection, alerting, and remediation pipelines that proactively address SLO breaches before they impact end‑users.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Partner with service engineering, product, and security teams to map customer‑defined SLOs to internal platform SLOs, creating a unified observability model.
  • Data‑Driven Insight: Analyze SLO performance trends, identify reliability risks, and propose actionable improvement plans that drive continuous reliability enhancements.
  • Customer Advocacy: Conduct regular SLO performance reviews with customers, delivering clear insights, recommendations, and next‑step roadmaps.
  • Performance Optimization: Lead initiatives to improve system scalability, latency, and throughput, ensuring that both internal and customer‑facing services consistently exceed defined SLOs.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and best‑practice guides for SLO implementation, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Mentorship & Thought Leadership: Coach junior engineers on reliability best practices, promote a culture of observability, and contribute to internal forums and external community events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience designing, building, and launching commercial software products or web services at scale.
  • At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) within a cloud environment (arenaflex Cloud, AWS, or GCP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in defining, implementing, and managing SLOs and SLIs for enterprise‑grade cloud customers.
  • 2 + years of experience in an external client‑facing role, with a track record of translating technical concepts into business value.
  • Proficiency with modern observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, or equivalents) and automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates).
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, Java, or C#.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non‑technical domains.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the arenaflex Cloud background check and any additional security clearances required for the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with 6 + years of software industry experience.
  • 8 + years of experience building large‑scale, distributed systems with a focus on reliability and performance.
  • Prior experience developing SLO‑driven automation for multi‑tenant SaaS platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML‑enhanced anomaly detection and predictive reliability models.
  • Experience contributing to open‑source observability projects or publishing technical articles.
  • Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., arenaflex Certified Solutions Expert, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex reliability data, spot patterns, and translate findings into concrete improvement actions.
  • Customer Obsession: A relentless focus on delivering value to customers, anticipating their needs, and exceeding expectations.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Proven ability to work across diverse, global teams, fostering inclusive dialogue and shared ownership.
  • Innovation & Agility: Comfort operating in a fast‑paced, startup‑like environment where you can iterate quickly and experiment boldly.
  • Problem‑Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with a “no dead‑ends” attitude and a drive to get things done.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead initiatives, mentor peers, and influence senior leadership without direct authority.
