Recognized as one of the world’s most admired workplaces, arenaflex combines a family‑first culture with a relentless focus on innovation. Our employees thrive in an environment where collaboration, continuous learning, and personal growth are not just encouraged—they’re built into everything we do. As a member of the arenaflex IT team, you’ll be part of a forward‑thinking organization that values integrity, excellence, and the power of technology to transform the customer experience.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Network Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT Operations group. In this role, you will be the frontline guardian of arenaflex’s enterprise‑wide network infrastructure, ensuring that critical business services remain available, performant, and secure. You will work closely with specialist teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to diagnose, resolve, and prevent network incidents, while championing best‑in‑class processes aligned with ITIL standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain arenaflex’s core network components—including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices—across data centers, regional offices, colocation sites, and cloud environments.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end incident lifecycle: incident detection, classification, investigation, escalation, resolution, communication, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with specialist vendor teams (including arenaflex‑approved hardware partners) to replace or repair failed equipment, minimizing business impact.
  • Develop and execute proactive maintenance plans, including scheduled upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning for LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructures.
  • Maintain comprehensive incident records in the ticketing system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to internal customers, project teams, and junior support staff on network design, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Change Management team to assess risk, schedule, and implement network changes with minimal disruption.
  • Analyze network performance metrics, generate trend reports, and recommend architectural improvements to support business growth.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation, weekend, and holiday support schedules, ensuring 24/7 coverage for critical services.
  • Assist with the configuration and troubleshooting of arenaflex‑branded network equipment, ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, documenting process enhancements and contributing to knowledge‑base articles.
  • Support the procurement and inventory management of network hardware, working closely with the supply chain team to secure required components.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and non‑technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable information.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong foundational knowledge of Ethernet, Fiber, MPLS, VPN, ISDN, Dedicated IP, and Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
  • Hands‑on experience with network hardware and software, including switches, routers, and remote access controllers.
  • Proficiency in subnetting, VLAN configuration, and network topology design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver high‑quality customer service over the phone and via email.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving abilities, especially under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request management.
  • Self‑driven attitude with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively without constant supervision.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong collaborative mindset, eager to share ideas, work as part of a team, and place collective goals above individual accolades.
  • Solid understanding of arenaflex Suite (formerly Google Suite) for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to regional sites and data centers as needed.
  • Flexibility to support after‑hours work, including weekends, holidays, and on‑call rotations on a rotational basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or familiarity with arenaflex’s retail and warehouse hardware ecosystems.
  • Hands‑on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, or arenaflex‑branded monitoring platforms).
  • CCNA certification or equivalent networking credentials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Exposure to scripting languages such as Python or arenaflex Suite Apps Script for automation of routine tasks.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, troubleshooting methodologies, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Customer‑Centric Service: Ability to maintain composure, empathy, and professionalism while handling high‑impact incidents.
  • Process Discipline: Strong adherence to documented procedures, change control, and incident reporting standards.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging networking technologies, security trends, and industry best practices.
