Immigration Clerk
Withers is a law firm that focuses on people, performance, and collaboration. The Immigration Clerk role involves assisting attorneys with immigration processes, including drafting applications and managing case details for clients.
Responsibilities
- Draft immigration applications, petitions, and supporting materials, including case narratives, forms, and evidentiary documents
- Assist attorneys by preparing first drafts of application materials, personal statements, and support letters, adapting templates as needed
- Review client information and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across filings
- Coordinate with attorneys and internal team members to gather required details and keep cases moving forward
- Track key deadlines and monitor case progress to support timely filings
- Conduct basic research to support application content and ensure alignment with immigration requirements
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in materials and flag them for attorney review
- Produce clear, well-structured written work in a fast-paced environment using firm systems
- Support general case management and administrative tasks, including file organization and document management
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; strong academic writing experience preferred (e.g., humanities, social sciences, law-related fields)
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently while supporting a broader team
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Interest in immigration work, legal writing, or case development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
