Join arenaflex as a Remote Part-Time Data Entry Specialist – Precision-Driven Payroll & Account Information Management

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for accuracy, data integrity, and remote work flexibility? arenaflex is actively seeking a dedicated Remote Part-Time Data Entry Specialist to support critical payroll operations and client account management functions for one of our valued clients. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who thrive in structured, process-driven environments and want to contribute meaningfully to the operational backbone of a dynamic organization—all from the comfort of their own home.

The data entry landscape has evolved dramatically over the past decade, and arenaflex stands at the forefront of connecting talented professionals with opportunities that match their skills and lifestyle preferences. Our commitment to fostering remote work excellence means we invest in our team members by providing all the tools, technology, and support needed to succeed in a virtual environment. If you have a sharp eye for detail, solid computer literacy, and a desire to grow within the administrative and data management field, we want to hear from you.

Position Overview

This opening is initially structured as a three to four-month contract with significant potential for extension, conversion to a long-term contract, or even transition into a permanent role based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit. The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate ranging from $16.00 to $21.00, depending on your level of experience and demonstrated expertise. Work will be performed remotely, with all necessary equipment provided by our client to ensure you can hit the ground running from day one.

Reporting arrangements can be configured in one of two ways: you may report directly to our client's office environment, or you may follow a hybrid schedule that combines remote workdays with in-office days. Regardless of the arrangement selected, you will be a vital contributor to a collaborative team focused on maintaining data accuracy, supporting payroll functions, and upholding the highest standards of information integrity.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Part-Time Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of essential tasks that directly impact client operations and employee satisfaction. Your primary duties will include:

  • Data Input and Database Management: Accurately entering and loading client employee payroll information, personal employee details, and related data into both internal and external systems in a timely manner. Your precision in this area ensures that clients can process payroll seamlessly and without disruption.
  • Information Updates and Maintenance: Proactively updating client-level and company-level information as changes occur. This includes modifying delivery addresses, revising contact information, and making other necessary adjustments to maintain accurate and current account records across all platforms.
  • Tax Rate and Compliance Updates: Inputting State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate changes into relevant databases to ensure the integrity of client tax filings and compliance with state regulations. This is a critical function that requires careful attention to detail and a solid understanding of the importance of accurate tax-related data.
  • Quality Assurance: Reviewing entered data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before final submission. Identifying and correcting any discrepancies or errors to maintain the highest possible data quality standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining organized records of all data entry activities, generating reports as needed, and communicating any issues or anomalies to supervisors in a clear and timely fashion.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with team members, supervisors, and client representatives to clarify information, resolve data-related questions, and ensure smooth operational workflows.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Educational Background: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Additional coursework or certifications in business administration, data management, or related fields are a plus.
  • Data Entry Experience: A minimum of one year of hands-on data entry experience in a professional setting. Experience with high-volume data input is highly valued.
  • Computer Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to navigate spreadsheets, enter data accurately, and use basic formulas and functions. General computer literacy and comfort with various software applications are essential.
  • Typing Skills: Fast and accurate typing abilities, typically demonstrated by a typing speed of at least 45-50 words per minute with minimal errors.
  • Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to producing error-free work. The ability to spot inconsistencies and discrepancies is crucial.
  • Reliability and Self-Motivation: Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay productive in a remote work environment without direct supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ask clarifying questions and report issues professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

While not strictly required, the following qualifications will give candidates a competitive edge:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience: More than one year of experience using Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, data validation, and macro capabilities.
  • Payroll or HR Data Experience: Prior experience working with payroll systems, HR databases, or employee information management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Tax-Related Data: Understanding of State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rates, tax compliance requirements, or similar regulatory data.
  • Customer Service Background: Experience in a client-facing or customer service role that involved handling sensitive information with discretion.

Skills and Competencies for Success

Beyond the technical qualifications listed above, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Time Management: The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple data entry projects simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying potential issues and developing solutions before they escalate.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with learning new systems, software applications, and processes quickly and efficiently.
  • Confidentiality: A strong understanding of the importance of handling sensitive employee and client information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: While the work is primarily independent, success depends on the ability to collaborate effectively with remote team members and supervisors.

Work Schedule and Environment

This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, offering consistency and predictability that supports a healthy work-life balance. As a part-time role, specific hours will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to accommodate individual scheduling needs whenever possible. The remote work arrangement means you can perform your duties from a home office or other suitable location, eliminating commute time and providing greater control over your daily routine.

Our client will provide all necessary equipment, including a computer, monitor, and any specialized software required to perform your job effectively. You will be expected to have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace that allows for focused, uninterrupted work.

Career Growth and Development Opportunities

At arenaflex, we believe that every position is a potential launching pad for long-term career growth. Team members who demonstrate exceptional performance, reliability, and a commitment to excellence often find themselves considered for expanded responsibilities, specialized projects, or full-time opportunities within our client organizations.

Additionally, working in this role provides valuable exposure to payroll systems, HR data management, and regulatory compliance—areas that offer strong career trajectories in the administrative and business operations fields.
