Why This Role Matters

The Director of Identity & Access Management (IAM) is a pivotal leadership position within arenaflex’s Information Security organization. You will steer the Identity & Access Management team, shaping strategy, driving execution, and ensuring that access controls are robust, compliant, and aligned with our business objectives. Your work will directly protect critical data assets, support regulatory compliance, and enable secure digital experiences for millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the IAM roadmap, aligning it with broader security and business goals.
  • Team Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team of IAM analysts, engineers, and senior specialists, fostering a high‑performance culture.
  • Policy & Governance: Develop, maintain, and enforce IAM policies, standards, and procedures that meet industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, PCI DSS).
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and remediate IAM‑related risks, ensuring continuous improvement of access controls.
  • Automation & Innovation: Champion automation initiatives to reduce manual effort, streamline access request workflows, and enhance the efficiency of IAM processes.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross‑functional security teams (e.g., Data Security, Threat Intelligence, Compliance) to integrate IAM controls into a holistic security architecture.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate IAM strategy, progress, and risk posture to senior leadership, business partners, and external auditors.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and develop team members, creating clear career pathways and encouraging professional certifications.
  • Incident Response: Lead IAM aspects of security incidents, providing rapid analysis and remediation recommendations.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to measure IAM effectiveness and drive data‑informed decisions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in a core Information Security role focused on Identity & Access Management.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of building, coaching, and scaling high‑performing security teams.
  • Deep understanding of IAM lifecycle components, including provisioning, de‑provisioning, role‑based access control (RBAC), privileged access management (PAM), and entitlement reviews.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities, capable of translating complex security concepts into actionable business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
  • Experience with risk management tools and processes, including vulnerability assessments and security audits.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Industry‑recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or other process‑improvement certifications.
  • Hands‑on experience with IAM platforms (e.g., SailPoint, Okta, Azure AD, ForgeRock).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated IAM controls.
  • Prior experience in the financial services or payments industry.
