What You Will Do

As a Remote Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting data engineering solutions that power our organization's analytics capabilities. This role offers exposure to the full data engineering lifecycle, providing invaluable hands-on experience for your career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with source data software teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide insights for better decision-making
• Implement data migration and data engineering solutions using Azure products and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, and more
• Participate in multiple aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, cloud engineering (infrastructure, network, security, and administration), ingestion, preparation, data modeling, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, deployments, intake, BI, alerting, and production support
• Provide technical support and collaborate within a team environment while also working independently on projects
• Be part of a DevOps team that fully owns and supports their product from development through production
• Implement batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies to ensure reliable data flow
• Develop coding standards, best practices, and privacy and security guidelines to maintain high-quality data solutions
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to help the team scale and succeed

Qualifications We're Seeking

Minimum Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following education and experience:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or an associated technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• Technical基础: 1 year of software solution development using agile and DevOps methodologies, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale programs or data engineering solutions
• Data Analytics Skills: 1 year of data analytics experience using SQL
• Cloud Experience: 1 year of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure), including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, and Power BI

Technical Proficiency

• Scripting Languages: Python, Spark, Unix, SQL
• Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake, Azure Data Explorer (administration skills a plus)
• Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, Azure Functions
• CI/CD Tools: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform
• BI Analytics Tool Stack: Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, Grafana
• Data Warehouse: DataStage, Informatica
• Data Governance and Privacy: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID

Preferred Qualifications

If you have these additional qualifications, they will be considered a strong asset:

• 2 years of software solution development using agile, DevOps, and product model methodologies
• 3 years of data analytics experience using SQL
• 2 years of full-stack development experience, preferably in Azure
• 2 years of cloud development and data lake experience in Microsoft Azure, including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, and Power BI
• Experience in the airline or transportation industry is a plus but not required

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Experience with the Azure Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and developing intake layers
• Working knowledge of Azure Native cloud services
• Spark Certification (preferred)

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
