Position Overview

The Customer Experience Associate – Front End Services & Cashier Operations position is a full-time role offering a competitive hourly wage of $25 per hour. This role is based in Texas, USA, and involves working eight-hour shifts that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as our busiest times often fall outside of traditional business hours.

In this role, you will wear many hats — from processing transactions at the register to assisting customers with their needs, keeping the sales floor tidy, and lending a hand to colleagues across different departments. If you are a multitasker with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others, you will excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities

Cashier and Front End Duties

  • Greet every customer with a warm, genuine smile and provide friendly, attentive service from arrival to checkout.
  • Process cash, credit, debit, and digital payment transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring a smooth checkout experience.
  • Stand for extended periods while maintaining a high level of accuracy and speed during busy periods.
  • Answer customer questions about products, pricing, promotions, store policies, and general inquiries.
  • Bag purchases properly, handle returns and exchanges in accordance with company policy, and count cash back accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable checkout area throughout your shift.
  • Promote loyalty programs, store credit cards, and special offers to help customers save more.
  • Collaborate with team members across the store to ensure seamless customer service and operational efficiency.

Cart and Janitorial Support

  • Ensure customers enjoy a positive first and last impression by keeping the store's exterior and interior clean and welcoming.
  • Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and return them to designated cart areas.
  • Operate equipment safely to transport carts from the parking lot into the store.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, sales floor areas, and parking lot spaces as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive attitude in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor.

General Store Support

  • Assist with stocking shelves, organizing products, and restocking merchandise when needed.
  • Support special promotions, seasonal displays, and in-store events.
  • Help train and mentor new team members on front-end procedures and customer service standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold arenaflex's standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers and team members.
  • Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and walking throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior cashier or front-end experience in a retail environment.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and loss prevention practices.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a strong plus.
  • Experience operating janitorial or cart-retrieval equipment safely.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
