Medicaid Specialist - SNF
The Medicaid Specialist is responsible for managing the Medicaid application process for residents in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). This role ensures timely and accurate completion of Medicaid eligibility applications, documentation collection, and coordination with residents, families, facility staff, and state agencies. The role is ideal for current or former Business Office Managers (BOM) who have experience completing Medicaid applications in a nursing home setting. Responsibilities:
- Manage and submit Medicaid applications for SNF residents
- Collect and review financial documentation for eligibility
- Communicate with residents, families, and Medicaid caseworkers
- Track application status and follow up on pending cases
- Resolve requests for information, denials, and eligibility issues
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility business office
- Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility and long-term care billing
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with SNF billing systems (PointClickCare) is a plus
