Why This Role Matters

As a Systems Software Engineer at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of our AI infrastructure, designing and maintaining the foundational platforms that enable our large‑scale models to run efficiently, securely, and at unprecedented speed. Your work will directly impact the performance of mission‑critical AI services used by millions of developers, researchers, and enterprises worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, high‑performance infrastructure for AI model training and inference.
  • Build scalable systems that support rapid experimentation, continuous integration, and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Optimize existing frameworks for speed, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness by refining resource allocation, system scheduling, and storage strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with software architects, data scientists, and product teams to integrate infrastructure components into larger platform ecosystems.
  • Implement and enhance containerization, virtualization, and sandboxing solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and VirtualBox.
  • Develop monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Lead incident response efforts, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive post‑mortem improvements to ensure system resilience.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending innovative approaches that keep arenaflex at the forefront of AI infrastructure.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python, C, C++, or a comparable language, with a track record of building production‑grade software.
  • Hands‑on experience with systems programming, including memory management, concurrency, and low‑level networking.
  • Deep understanding of virtualization, container orchestration, and sandboxing techniques.
  • Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and VirtualBox, including the ability to design custom images and manage multi‑cluster deployments.
  • Solid grasp of distributed systems concepts such as consensus algorithms, fault tolerance, and data replication.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and implement reliable, repeatable fixes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Master’s degree or advanced coursework in high‑performance computing, cloud engineering, or related areas.
  • Experience with GPU/TPU provisioning, resource scheduling, and performance profiling for AI workloads.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for containerized environments, including SELinux/AppArmor, secret management, and network policies.
  • Prior involvement in open‑source projects or contributions to community‑driven AI tooling.
  • Passion for continuous learning, with a track record of staying current on emerging trends in AI, DevOps, and systems engineering.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems into manageable components and devise elegant, efficient solutions.
  • Ownership Mentality: Proactive approach to taking end‑to‑end responsibility for projects, from concept through production rollout.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust, open communication, and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment where priorities shift quickly and new challenges emerge daily.
  • Innovation Drive: Curiosity to experiment with novel technologies and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
