Tredence Inc. is a company specializing in data engineering solutions, and they are seeking a Manager – Data Engineering to lead their data governance initiatives. The role involves designing and implementing data governance frameworks, establishing policies, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure data quality and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures for the organization
  • Partner with data owners, data stewards, and business stakeholders to define and prioritize data governance goals
  • Develop and enforce data quality standards, policies, and metrics to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data across the organization
  • Implement data quality monitoring and reporting processes, including the use of data profiling tools to proactively address quality issues
  • Build and manage a team of data stewards and promote a culture of data ownership across business units
  • Define roles and responsibilities for data stewardship, data quality, and data ownership across departments
  • Collaborate with data stewards to ensure compliance with governance policies and maintain a data catalog or data inventory
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, or industry specific standards
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and IT security departments to recognize and address risks associated with data privacy, data utilization, and data retention
  • Develop and manage a data governance risk register, regularly reporting on data governance risks and mitigation efforts
  • Evaluate and implement data governance tools for data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging
  • Collaborate with the IT department to incorporate data governance tools into current systems for efficient data governance procedures and automatic monitoring

Skills

  • Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, or a related field
  • One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a related position
  • Demonstrable knowledge of SQL
  • Demonstrable knowledge of PYSPARK
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Collibra
  • Demonstrable knowledge of JIRA
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Big Query
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Tableau
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Power BI
  • Travel to unanticipated client locations throughout the U.S., approximately 30%, as required
  • May telecommute from any location within the U.S
