Database Administrator 1
The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Database Administrator 1 to support the database design, development, and operations for public safety across Pennsylvania. This role involves ensuring reliable data systems and supporting critical public safety functions.
Responsibilities
- Support database structure planning and development to meet application needs
- Create and maintain data models and dictionaries to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Monitor and tune database performance to improve reliability and efficiency
- Administer access controls and apply security standards to protect sensitive data
- Develop processes to extract, transform, and load data between systems
- Assist with deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting across database environments
Skills
- One year as a Database Analyst or Information Technology Generalist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration; or
- Three years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- One year of information technology experience in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- You must meet the PA residency requirement
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
