Our client, a globally recognized leader in aircraft manufacturing, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their innovative team. This position is fully remote, offering the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects from your home office. You will be responsible for overseeing the structural design, analysis, and testing of advanced aircraft components and airframes. This role requires a deep understanding of materials science, stress analysis, fatigue, and fracture mechanics, as well as strong leadership capabilities. Responsibilities: Lead the structural design and analysis efforts for new aircraft development programs and upgrades. Develop and implement advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to predict structural behavior under various load conditions. Perform stress analysis, fatigue life assessment, and damage tolerance evaluations. Ensure structural integrity and compliance with airworthiness regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including aerodynamics, systems, and manufacturing engineers, using virtual collaboration tools. Mentor and guide junior structural engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices. Review and approve structural designs, analyses, and test plans. Stay abreast of new materials, manufacturing techniques, and analytical methodologies in structural engineering. Contribute to the development of structural testing strategies and oversee test execution where applicable. Prepare comprehensive technical reports and present findings to management and program stakeholders. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in aircraft structural design and analysis. Expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus). Strong knowledge of aircraft materials (composites, alloys) and their behavior under load. Proficiency in stress analysis, vibration analysis, fatigue, and fracture mechanics. Familiarity with composite structures design and analysis. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, essential for a remote leadership role. Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and lead engineering teams remotely. Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) is a plus. Understanding of aircraft manufacturing processes.
