Job DetailsJob Location: Remote - TBD - EEHA, CA 99999Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 Base+Commission/yearAbout the role The Underwriter will underwrite loans in accordance with Company and Investor guidelines following company’s policies and procedures under general supervision. Responsible for analyzing and evaluating consumer home loan applications as well as the supporting documentation to assess borrower’s creditworthiness. Makes sound underwriting decisions that meet legal and policy requirements. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities: Complete analysis of credit, income, property and verify consistency of loan file information. Identify risk factors within each loan and utilizes resources, tools, and documentation to detect red flags and clear inconsistencies. Review and clear underwriting conditions, stipulations or pre-funding requirements received. Communicate with Broker Clients, Sales and Operations teams to resolve issues as they arise. Resolve and respond to any post-closing and/or audit deficiencies with Quality Assurance and Management received from investors and auditors when required on loans underwritten. Maintains ongoing knowledge of investor guidelines and updates as applicable to position. Responsible for pipeline management to adhere to turn times and compliance requirements. Work closely with processing staff to clear loan conditions throughout the loan process. Assist in training Junior Underwriter staff. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsWhat Skills & Requirements You’ll Need Relevant prior experience in Wholesale Mortgage Underwriting and Credit for 3+ years. Non-Qualified Mortgage (Non-QM) knowledge strongly preferred. Manual underwriting experience required. DU and LP experience preferred. Core Skills/Knowledge Ability to comprehend and apply guidelines. Ability to manage pipeline to ensure SLAs are met for initial underwrites, conditions, and final condition reviews. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Current experience working in Encompass 360 Must be able to demonstrate Encompass experience during interview process. Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and in a team environment. Organized, analytical and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize workload while meeting deadlines. Ability to communicate to peers as well as external parties effectively in writing and verbally. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to clearly explain a credit decision and/or condition to stakeholders.
