This position will look after a team of business analysts, product owners, business process architects, and scrum masters by establishing the right standards and responsibilities for these roles and ensuring that we deliver on projects. This position reports to the SVP of Enterprise Data.This position will work hand-in-hand with data engineering, architects, analyst community and data scientists to define meaningful and extensible data models for our cloud-based data warehouse (CDW). The CDW collects and aggregates data from internal and external sources, acting as the central repository organizational data. Also, this position will own executive-level relationships and will serve as a single point of focus to drive business value through effective utilization of existing solutions and identification and prioritization of new capabilities.Flexible Work Policy: The work for the Sr Director Data Product Owner position is completely 100% remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. This position may have the potential to travel up to 20% dependent on business needs. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Director, Data Product Owner should be highly analytical and should have critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the candidate should have proven strong leadership skills. This position will look after a team of business analysts, product owners, business process architects, and scrum masters. Other areas of responsibilities include:• Create the vision, strategy and goals for an enterprise data roadmap• Own data governance including managing the availability, usability, integrity and security of the data in enterprise systems• Create data quality strategies and coordinate across the organization• Establish the right roles, responsibilities, standards and technologies for the success of scrum masters, business analysts, product owners, business architects and data governance• Understand how product ownership teams work in a complex cross-functional agile framework and implement, adapt as necessary to ensure on-time delivery• Product ownership of data integrations between the SaaS platforms and internal and external systems data integrations• Lead team to collaborate with data engineering, quality assurance, data science, product development, analyst teams and external data integration partners• In depth familiarity with leading data technologies (Snowflake, FiveTran, DBT, Databricks, Alteryx, Tableau) and experience leading teams that utilize these technologies• Experience with Azure DevOps or Atlassian suite products to run agile teams• Create work products as needed including requirements and system documentation• Define requirements for data pipeline workflows• Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partnersSUPERVISION: This person will look after 8-12 FTEs with a total team size between 20-30 people including contractors.RELATIONSHIPS• Internal: This position will interact across the organization. Would need to be comfortable and capable of presenting to the Executive Leadership Team (C-level), SVPs / VPs in the field and in functions, as well as working with SMEs across the organization. Data touches all aspects of our business, and it will span the entire range.• External: This position will interact with vendors negotiating contracts, evaluating technologies and aligning with internal strategy. This position will be adept at communicating at the highest levels at vendors and able to dive deeply into technical conversations.QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training:• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience requiredRelated Experience/Requirements:• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a data, product, or engineering role• Minimum 5 years of management experience• Technical background with high level understanding of system interfaces• Experience with products with multiple data sources• Background of improving user experience by interpreting data and automating decision making• Experience across the entire data value chain - including data warehouses, data lakes, big data, ELT, data modeling, database administration, security, user interface, reporting & analysis, etc.• Experience with data pipelines using cloud-based tools• Experience documenting business process and technical data integration workflows• Experience creating data specifications and data standards• Experience with SQL, Python, Java, or similar program languages• Experience working with JSON, XML, CSV and similar data formatting tools.

  • Understanding of different data integration patterns - REST APIs, data pipelines, and event-based messaging architecturesCompensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
