The Physician will provide virtual urgent and primary care telemedicine services to members in the US Virgin Islands via telehealth/virtual platforms. The services rendered may encompass prevention, acute care, chronic disease management for ages 3+, and sexual health for adults and per the Board of Medical Examiners subchapter guidelines for adolescents and adults. The Physician will collaborate with physicians, care teams, and specialty providers, and contribute to population health management, quality initiatives and digital-care innovations. This is a 1099 contracted role with flexible hours. Duties

  • Clinical Care / Patient Management
  • Conduct virtual medical assessments and exams.
  • Establishing a relationship and coordinating with the patient’s Virgin Islands-licensed healthcare professional.
  • Establishing a diagnosis using accepted medical practices including, but not limited to, patient history, mental status and appropriate diagnostic and laboratory testing.
  • Discussing with the patient any diagnosis as well as the risks and benefits of various treatment options.
  • Ensuring the availability of appropriate follow-up care.
  • Conduct virtual patient encounters via video visits, phone visits, secure
  • messaging.
  • Complete comprehensive histories, virtual assessments, diagnoses, and treat
  • per standards of practice, care, and protocols.
  • Provide health promotion, wellness, and patient education (e.g., immunizations, screening guidelines, lifestyle modifications).
  • Coordinate care with other providers, health coaches, specialists, and
  • ancillary services.
  • Ensure timely documentation of visits, treatment plans, referrals, and
  • communications in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Adhere to revive platform guidelines and policies and complete all required training
  • Skilled at using online tool an technology to delivery virtual communication and

  • Collaboration, Leadership & Professional Development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure integrated care.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor for other clinicians or telehealth
  • support staff as applicable.
  • Stay current with clinical guidelines, the best telehealth practices, digital health innovations, and relevant legislation/regulatory changes.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all patient documentation complies with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational quality and policy standards.
  • Maintain credentials, licenses, certifications and required continuing education.
  • Adhere to organizational policies on telehealth, prescribing, scope of, practice, referral management, and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree M.D. or D.O.
  • Board certification: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine,
  • Current, unencumbered, and unrestricted license in the United States Virgin Island
  • Available to conduct visits during routine business hours and flexibility to extend hours to include weekend and evenings as needed.
  • Previous experience with delivering quality telehealth urgent or primary medical services
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with productivity of 3+ patients/hour

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with remote patient monitoring (RPM) technologies, digital health platforms, and asynchronous telehealth workflows.

Working Conditions & Environment

  • Fully remote/virtual environment; high-speed internet and secure workspace required.
  • Attend virtual meetings with the possible occasional in person training or other meeting
  • Must adhere to telehealth best practices, maintain patient privacy, and manage remote workflows effectively.
  • The organization may provide training/mentorship for virtual-care best practices, remote patient engagement, and digital workflows.
  • The role may evolve as telehealth technology and virtual-care models mature.
