About the Role: The Technical Software Development Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills to deliver projects on time and within budget while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Work Location: The successful candidate for this role can be either a remote employee (working 100% remotely from a designated location within Canada), a hybrid employee (flexibility to work in the office or from home at a location within 75 km from the London, ON office), or an in-office employee at our London, ON office. Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and career development support. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Technical Expertise: Contribute to software design, architecture, and code reviews, ensuring best practices and high-quality code. Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance development efficiency, quality, and team collaboration. Code Quality: Perform code reviews and ensure that code adheres to coding standards and security best practices. Resource Allocation: Manage project resources effectively, including assigning tasks, managing dependencies, and addressing any roadblocks. Communication: Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing regular updates and progress reports. Hands-on Development: Participate in coding and development tasks as needed, especially during critical phases of projects. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a team lead or management role. Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, PHP, Javascript, or similar. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of developers. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. The successful candidate for this role will become an employee of Race Roster North America Corporation (doing business as ASICS Apps Canada), a subsidiary of ASICS Corporation, a Japanese multinational corporation.
