The selected candidate will play a key role in teaching in our undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation programs. We seek candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to serving students from historically minoritized populations and who have expertise in culturally responsive pedagogies. The candidate should have expertise in at least one of the following areas: foundations of education, teacher leadership, special education, reading and literacy instruction, bilingual education, and/or curriculum and instructional design. The selected candidate will join a team of highly collaborative colleagues in K-12 Curriculum and Instruction. The department currently includes undergraduate and graduate programs in elementary and secondary education, special education, literacy leadership, gifted education, and English as a second language (ESL) & Bilingual Education. Responsibilities for this position include the following: (1) teach a 4-4 course load as assigned in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction; (2) provide program service, including designing online courses, advising students, and coaching in-service teachers (3) participate in program development and innovation for continuous programmatic improvement; (4) participate in and provide professional service to the program and department. This includes building partnerships with teachers and administrators to support field-based teaching and learning. Research and publication are not required, but opportunities for collaborative research are available and encouraged. Residential Requirement: Remote or hybrid work is not available. A minimum of three years of experience teaching in K-12 schools. Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field. Experience teaching courses in a teacher education program. Experience mentoring or coaching K-12 teachers. Experience in designing and teaching online courses.
