Location: Remote Contract Length: 3 to 6 months Start: As soon as possible Environment: DB2 v13 on z/OS 3.1 Our client is seeking an experienced, senior-level DB2 for z/OS Database Administrator to provide immediate support for production DB2 environments and assist with a critical DB refresh across environments. This is a hands‑on role focused on database administration, stability, and environment support/maintenance—not application development. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys deep technical DB2 work and wants to make an immediate impact. About The Environment
- DB2 v13 on z/OS 3.1
- Largest production database: ~1 TB, 113 DB2 tables, 3.5 billion rows
- Highly stable mainframe environment with long‑tenured technical staff
- This role is one of two DB2 DBAs when fully staffed
Top Priorities (First 60–90 Days)
- Keeping all DB2 production systems running smoothly
- Performing monthly DB2 maintenance
- Executing DB2 refreshes to lower environments for testing
- Ensuring stability and reliability while the organization recruits permanent staff
