Field Agronomist At Corteva Agriscience, you'll help us grow what's next. We have an excellent opportunity for a Field Agronomist to join our team in Sonora & Baja California, México. The Field Agronomist will be responsible to tech support mega growers/agroexporters (mono/multi crop) in terms of agronomical practices, resistance management, and multiple issues by being the technical face of Corteva on the field. This person will generate demand for Corteva solutions. He/she will report to the Agronomy Leader but will have a very close interaction with R&D and Markenting Areas. Main duties besides demand generation include whatever is needed to position Corteva at the agroexporter, by training, offering technical conferences, facilitating and leading trials. Is responsible for initial CP product training and positioning with sales teams. Activities:

  • This position retains a deep understanding regarding agricultural techniques, products, and technological advancements that improve fruits and vegetables productivity, methods of creating efficiency and economic benefit for growers and channel partners, all of which are centered on Corteva integrated strategies.
  • Responsible for conducting agronomic research, for driving leverages programs trials, for generating and developing market information and for supporting the Market Developer and Category Leader on value proposition.
  • The Field Agronomist will have deep knowledge of all applicable Corteva products and technologies and how these can be applied.
  • The Field Agronomist position will actively participate in design, communication, and implementation of crop solutions for fruits and vegetables.
  • Crop expertise delivered through this role will be customer centric, utilizing a coordinated approach through internal and external partners. This role is key to identifying, communicating, and stewarding positive, measurable technical attributes of our products and portfolio for fruits and vegetables market by providing technical guidance, collateral support, and facilitation of new product launches.
  • Own the development and delivery of Corteva's product, agronomic and solution in the field, as necessary for maximum demand and value creation.
  • Act as technical representative of Corteva within the most relevant agronomic forums in the country and in the crops assigned.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree/engineering degree in an agriculture-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Full English proficiency.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in AG and CP industry (prefer job-related work experience).
  • Significant background and/or education in crop agronomy or related field.
  • Strong understanding of crop agronomics and the financial drivers of a grower's business.
  • Deep technical knowledge and understanding of the fruits and vegetables market, its production and critical agronomic and other inputs that enable maximization of yield and return on investment.
  • Demonstrates strong communication/persuasive skills.
  • Ability to maintain current business and develop new business.
  • Reside in the position's area of influence
