About the position Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Audiology Assistant (Part-Time) to join their team in Wilmington, Delaware. The primary role of the audiology assistant is to support the audiology department in delivering essential patient care. This includes performing hearing screenings, minor troubleshooting, and repairs of hearing technology. Additionally, audiology assistants provide crucial support services through ordering, stocking, check-in, organization, and other administrative duties at all assigned satellite locations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete newborn hearing screenings (NBHS), document in patient’s electronic medical record, enter charges, report results using appropriate state database, meet with care team to share information.
  • Assist the audiologists in the testing of infants, toddlers, preschool, and adolescent patients.
  • Perform routine daily functions such as stocking supplies, equipment biologic checks/ troubleshooting and ensuring all patient care areas have the needed items for service.
  • Assisting audiologists in all operations related to all hearing devices such as hearing aids (HA), bone conduction hearing devices (BCHD), ear molds (EM), cochlear implants (CI), assistive listening devices (ALD) systems, etc.
  • Perform troubleshooting/repairs, direct patient contact in the form of troubleshooting and education, enter charges appropriately, and document in patient’s chart.
  • Order supplies and devices, check-in equipment, receive packages, perform budget, spreadsheets maintenance, payment request completion, and accounts payable reconciliation.
  • Maintains order and has responsibility for loaner and consignment hearing aid and other stock for the department including appropriate paperwork and EPIC documentation.
  • Respond to patient and family queries, EPIC messages, and aid in communication for the audiologists as needed.
  • Completes all required training related to hearing devices. Attends any assigned staff meetings and product informational meetings to stay up to date on new technology and practice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months experience required.
  • Travel to satellite locations required.
