What We Look For In a Chess Tutor

- Curriculum awareness & adaptive instruction: familiar with chess instruction progressions and common challenges such as transitioning from tactical to positional play, calculating variations accurately, and managing tournament time pressure; adapts instruction using puzzle practice, game analysis, and progressive difficulty exercises to support students from absolute beginners to advanced tournament players seeking rating improvement.
- Effective teaching methods: ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
