Social Media Contractor / Digital Growth Specialist (1099 Independent Contractor) Contract Opportunity Overview WNY Incident Alerts, Inc. is a Western New York-based not-for-profit organization seeking experienced, creative, and motivated independent contractors to provide social media growth, digital content, and audience engagement services across multiple social media platforms. This opportunity is ideal for experienced social media developers, content creators, digital marketers, influencers, and audience-growth specialists who understand how to build communities, increase engagement, and create impactful digital content. Contractors will have the flexibility to independently develop strategies, create content, and provide digital growth services that support the continued expansion of WNY Incident Alerts’ digital presence, public information efforts, and community outreach initiatives. This is a remote, flexible, performance-based 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Services May Include

  • Providing social media growth and audience development services across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging digital platforms
  • Developing, scheduling, and distributing original digital content including graphics, photography, short-form videos, reels, and written content
  • Implementing audience engagement strategies designed to increase reach, interaction, and overall platform growth
  • Monitoring online engagement and facilitating positive community interaction across digital platforms
  • Analyzing engagement metrics, audience trends, and performance insights to optimize content strategies
  • Identifying emerging trends, viral content opportunities, and platform developments relevant to audience growth
  • Coordinating with WNY Incident Alerts regarding branding guidelines, content standards, public information objectives, and community-focused messaging
  • Supporting monetization optimization and digital growth initiatives
  • Attending public events, emergency scenes, or community-related incidents when available and appropriate for content gathering or coverage opportunities

Preferred Experience

  • Demonstrated experience growing social media accounts, influencer brands, digital communities, or online audiences
  • Strong understanding of audience engagement strategies, platform algorithms, and content optimization
  • Experience creating engaging digital content across multiple social media platforms
  • Familiarity with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software
  • Photography, videography, and video-editing experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to independently develop content ideas, audience strategies, and engagement initiatives
  • Experience with social media analytics, audience insights, or digital performance tracking is preferred
  • Emergency services, public safety, fire, EMS, law enforcement, or dispatch knowledge is highly preferred
  • Preference may be given to contractors willing to travel to emergency scenes, public events, or incident locations for content gathering and coverage opportunities
  • Influencers, page managers, meme/community account operators, and experienced social media developers are encouraged to apply
