Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Automotive Diagnostics Technician to join their innovative engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting from a fully remote setting. You will be instrumental in analyzing complex vehicle system issues, providing expert guidance to field technicians and engineering teams, and contributing to the development of advanced diagnostic tools and protocols. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive electrical systems, engine management, CAN bus communication, and various diagnostic software and hardware. Your ability to clearly articulate technical findings and solutions is paramount in this remote capacity. Responsibilities: Perform remote diagnosis of complex automotive issues across a wide range of vehicle makes and models. Analyze diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), sensor data, and live vehicle performance metrics. Interpret technical service bulletins (TSBs) and manufacturer repair information to guide troubleshooting efforts. Provide clear, concise, and actionable diagnostic guidance to field service technicians via remote communication channels (phone, video conference, email). Document diagnostic procedures, findings, and resolutions in a comprehensive knowledge base. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes of recurring vehicle issues and suggest design improvements. Utilize remote diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and vehicle communication interfaces. Stay current with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques. Contribute to the development and refinement of diagnostic software and hardware solutions. Assist in training junior technicians on advanced diagnostic procedures. Qualifications: Proven experience as an Automotive Technician with a strong emphasis on diagnostics and repair. ASE certifications (A1-A8, L1, L2, G1) are highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, engine performance, and modern vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket diagnostic scan tools and software. Experience with oscilloscope interpretation and data logging. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote interaction. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment. Proficiency in using digital tools for communication, documentation, and remote access. A dedicated home office setup with a reliable high-speed internet connection is mandatory.
