Seasonal Tax Return Reviewer (January - April 2027)
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated seasonal tax reviewer to join our team in Northern Michigan. In this fully remote role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our clients receive accurate and efficient tax preparation services that align with our commitment to excellence. This is a seasonal role during the next tax season (January - April 2027).
Responsibilities
- Review individual and Trust tax returns (Forms 1040 and 1041)
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
- Provide feedback and guidance to preparers to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Identify potential issues, planning opportunities, and documentation gaps
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations
- Serve as a point of contact for client matters, providing insights and strategic recommendations
- Maintain organized records of client information and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business required
- 10 years of experience in public accounting with a focus in individual taxation and high-level tax review.
- Current CPA license or Enrolled Agent license preferred
- Strong knowledge of individual tax return preparation and review
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (CCH Access, QuickBooks)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong math skills for accurate calculations
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Customer service-oriented mindset
