Schedule: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 601 E Rollins St City: Orlando State: Florida Postal Code: 32803 Job Description: Shift: M-F Days, participates in 24/7 On-call schedule for organ transplant nights/weekends. Address: 2415 N. Orange Ave Suite 700 Orlando, FL 32804
- Coordinates pre-transplant evaluations and assessments.
- Manages the transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
- Facilitates communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
- Organizes and schedules transplant surgeries and related procedures.
- Provides education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
- Monitors post-transplant recovery and follow-up care.
- Manages donor organ procurement and transportation logistics.
- Communicates the schedule for stem cell collections/harvest with the dialysis department.
- Coordinates with the blood bank to facilitate designated donor and pheresis blood products for the patient.
- Coordinates pre- and post-bone marrow transplant evaluations for the patient and donor, when applicable.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to transplant coordination.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong assessment skills [Preferred]
- Sound clinical judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills [Preferred]
- Concise oral and written communication skills [Preferred]
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team-environment [Preferred]
- Effective time management skills in high stress environment [Preferred]
- Basic computer skills [Preferred]
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) [Preferred]
- Nursing case management [Preferred]
Education:
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
- 1+ year leadership experience [Required]
- 1+ year of transplant, critical care [Required]
- 3+ years' experience as a Nurse [Preferred]
- Experience in kidney transplant care, nephrology care, dialysis care [Preferred]
- Critical care experience or palliative care of patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness [Preferred]
- Teaching/preceptor experience [Preferred]
- Transplant care experience [Preferred]
