Civil Engineer (5 to 7 yrs)

Responsibilities
- Applying engineering skills to a variety of challenging projects.
- Civil design projects through construction.
- Site layout, grading and drainage, and site utility design.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, mapping documents, preparation and processing of public improvement and grading plans, and earthwork calculations.
- Prepare Hydrology Studies, Stormwater Quality Management Plans (SWQMPs), and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
- Coordinating with a multi-discipline design team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Certified Civil Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.)
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the design of commercial, office, mixed-use, multi-family residential, education, municipal, and/or Federal projects
- Strong technical skills in site layout, grading and drainage, and site utility design
- Technical experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, mapping documents, preparation and processing of public improvement and grading plans, and earthwork calculations
- Ability to prepare Hydrology Studies, Stormwater Quality Management Plans (SWQMPs), and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces and pipe networks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
Nice-to-haves
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- Experience working in the City and County of San Diego preferred
- Specification preparation experience preferred
