Outpatient Care Veterinary Technician

About the position Animal Medical Center of Hattiesburg is seeking a Room Technician (Outpatient Care Technician) to join their dedicated team. This role is ideal for a Veterinary Technician who excels in a fast-paced setting and enjoys client education, wellness care, and outpatient services. The hospital is a 24-hour facility offering general practice, emergency/urgent care, and specialty referrals, allowing technicians to utilize advanced skills. Responsibilities

• Assist in outpatient care, including wellness exams, sick visits, and follow-ups
• Provide client education on pet care, treatment plans, and preventative medicine
• Anticipate veterinarian needs during exams and procedures
• Perform technical skills including venipuncture, sample collection, and diagnostic testing
• Ensure smooth patient flow and efficient appointment management
• Communicate effectively with pet owners and the veterinary team

Requirements

• A CVT (or eligible) in Mississippi
• Passion for client service, patient care, and education
• Ability to multi-task, anticipate needs, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to a positive, emotionally intelligent work culture
• Someone who enjoys the exam room and thrives in an outpatient setting
