Veterinary Practice Management System (PMS) Support Specialist

Position Summary The PMS Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting veterinary hospitals through practice management system (PMS) conversions and resolving complex system issues. This hands-on position focuses on ensuring smooth transitions to cloud-based platforms while minimizing disruption to hospital operations. This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and remains calm under pressure, especially during system go-lives. The ideal candidate is a clear communicator who can effectively work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, understands how data is structured within systems, and takes strong ownership of outcomes from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end PMS conversions, including system setup, data migration, validation, and go-live execution
  • Configure templates, pricing, services, and workflows within PMS platforms
  • Assist with data entry and ensure accuracy throughout the conversion process
  • Provide post-conversion support to stabilize systems and drive user adoption
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex PMS-related issues across hospitals
  • Diagnose and resolve system, workflow, and data-related problems
  • Partner with software vendors to address system bugs, outages, and integrations
  • Collaborate with Operations, Strategy, Marketing, and Finance teams to support conversions and ongoing system needs
  • Communicate timelines, risks, and resolutions clearly to stakeholders

Required:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with veterinary PMS platforms
  • Strong experience with Pulse and EzyVet
  • Experience with additional systems such as Avimark, Cornerstone, Impromed, Shepherd, or Vetspire
  • Proven experience supporting PMS implementations or conversions
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, workflows, and data
  • Solid understanding of veterinary hospital operations (front desk, clinical workflows, billing, inventory)

Preferred:

  • Experience in a multi-site veterinary organization
  • Exposure to data migration or system integrations
  • Experience working with software vendors and technical support teams
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments

Additional information Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Performance-based bonus eligibility

Work Environment

  • Remote or hybrid (if NY based)
  • Travel up to ~20% during active conversions and go-lives
