Axonic Insurance, a NYC-based insurance business, is seeking a

  • *Suitability Analyst**

to support the compliance and suitability review of annuity applications and sales transactions. This entry-level role will help ensure that annuity recommendations and applications comply with regulatory requirements, company suitability standards, and best practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to upholding standards that protect clients and the firm.

  • *Key Responsibilities
  • Review incoming annuity applications and transaction documentation to assess compliance with suitability requirements, regulatory guidelines, and internal company policies.
  • Determine whether applications are acceptable, require additional information (“not in good order”), or must be declined based on suitability or business-rule criteria.
  • Communicate with agents, distributors, and internal business partners to request missing or clarifying information and guide them on suitability documentation requirements.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior compliance staff when appropriate, documenting analysis and recommended next steps.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., NAIC Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Regulation) and industry best practices; apply them consistently during reviews.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Distribution, and other teams to ensure suitability standards are aligned and efficiently executed.
  • Assist in maintaining suitability review processes, documentation, audit trails, and record-keeping systems to support compliance monitoring and audits.
  • Participate in periodic suitability audits, reviews of producer activity, and compliance-driven quality control initiatives.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries regarding suitability decisions, documentation requirements, and process expectations.
  • *Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent).
  • 1+ years of experience in insurance, financial services compliance, operations, or a related field; or demonstrated aptitude and interest in regulatory compliance and annuity products.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail and ability to apply regulatory and business-rule criteria objectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; comfort dealing with agents, distributors, internal partners, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Ethical mindset, integrity, and commitment to upholding consumer protection and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); comfort learning and using internal compliance/administration systems.
  • Familiarity with annuity products, state insurance regulations, and suitability concepts preferred, but training will be provided.
