Tax Preparer
Job Title: Experienced Tax Preparer (Contract) Location: Richmond, VA (Remote) Duration: 90-Day Contract Pay Rate: $32-40/hour Depending on Experience Schedule: Monday–Friday Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to support individual tax return preparation during a high-volume period. This is a 90-day onsite contract opportunity based in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing individual tax returns and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file individual tax returns (1040s and 1120s)
- Review financial records such as income statements and documentation for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
- Identify potential tax credits and deductions for clients
- Maintain organized and accurate client records
- Provide support during tax review processes, if applicable
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4-15+ years of experience preparing individual tax returns
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., H&R Block, Intuit/ProSeries, TurboTax, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple returns and deadlines efficiently
- Prior experience reviewing tax returns is a plus
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to tax return review or quality assurance processes
- Familiarity with a variety of individual tax scenarios and filing requirements
