The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors’ apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area. Social Services Assistant, sponsored by the Government of Canada, as per the Canada Summer Jobs Program (CSJ) 2026 initiative. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide social work office administrative support to the agency; Assist with educational content on a variety of topics Assist with informational programs or one-on-one support to clients/ residents; Assist with the maintenance and compiling of the social work-related documentation and other administrative duties as required Assist PM/PC/SWs with event preparation- open house, etc.; Provide support in social work-related needs assessment; Assist with preparing promotional materials for future promotion use; Provide support for online/onsite activities Contract Length: 8 weeks Hours of Work: 35 hours per week Rate: $17.60/hour Qualifications: Must be between the ages of 15-30 years of age at the start of the job Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally able to work in Ontario Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment and legally entitled to work in Canada Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills Proven demonstrated initiative Good knowledge of MS Office applications Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to work remotely as required Previous experience working with the elderly population an asset Good oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Chinese, Japanese or a South-Asian language required for some positions.
