About the Role

Role: Operations Manager – National After hours Service (x2) Employment Type: Permanent Full Time (x1), Permanent Part Time (x1) Location: Completely flexible, as this is a work from home opportunity! In this role you will work alongside the National Managers, to lead and oversee the delivery, quality, and operational performance of the National After Hours Service, You will be responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise to guide practice and manage risk, and shared accountability for workforce leadership, risk management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement of after hours operations. Roster Requirements: Position 1: Permanent Full Time Position 2: Permanent Part Time (60 hours/fortnight) Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of NAHS to ensure consistent, responsive, high-quality after-hours service nationally. Manage operational systems, workflows, and tools to support effective service delivery, documentation, and escalation processes. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, legislation, and funding/contract requirements across jurisdictions. Act as a senior escalation point for complex, high-risk, or critical incidents, supporting timely and defensible decisions. Lead continuous improvement by analysing trends, incidents, feedback, and performance data to enhance service delivery. Provide operational insights, escalation support, and performance reporting to managers. Oversee and strengthen practice guidance, tools, and procedures to ensure national consistency. Support staff development through supervision, coaching, reflective practice, and capability building in risk and critical incident management. Skills & Experience A recognised Degree in Human Services or a related field. Significant leadership experience in complex, high-volume human services environments. Experience supporting vulnerable children, young people and families, with strong knowledge of trauma informed practice and complex behaviours. Experience leading quality, governance, risk, continuous improvement, and crisis/incident response. Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure, delivering high quality outcomes within timeframes, and Ability to independently lead staff through supervision, coaching, capability building and performance development. Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and any relevant stated based checks.
