Marketing Communications Director

Description PURPOSE STATEMENT: The Director of Marketing Communications will lead the communications strategy across Blueroot Health’s portfolio of practitioner-focused brands, ensuring each brand maintains a distinct voice while reinforcing the organization’s overall reputation for clinical credibility and scientific rigor. This role oversees public relations, content, social media, influencer partnerships, and email marketing across multiple brands and customer segments. The Director will develop scalable systems, messaging frameworks, and editorial processes that drive consistency, efficiency, and impact while supporting the unique positioning and growth objectives of each brand. The ideal candidate brings deep experience of marketing science-backed brands and understands how to translate complex clinical science into clear, compelling, and compliant communications that build practitioner trust and loyalty. WHAT YOU’LL DO (MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy across the Vital Nutrients, Fairhaven Health, Bariatric Fusion and Unjury brands, ensuring each brand maintains clear positioning, differentiated messaging, and a consistent, science-backed voice. Establish scalable messaging frameworks and governance to ensure alignment and efficiency across the portfolio.
  • Build an internal team to support comprehensive marketing communications needs across all brands.
  • Lead public relations and thought leadership initiatives that elevate the visibility and credibility of the organization and its portfolio brands within practitioner, clinical, consumer, and trade media. Manage agency partners and support executive visibility, clinical expert engagement, and industry event participation.
  • Establish and manage a centralized editorial calendar that supports brand priorities while maximizing efficiency and content reuse across the portfolio and ensures a consistent message across all communications platforms.
  • Lead social media and influencer strategies across brands, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, clinical educators, and consumers. Ensure platform strategies reflect each brand’s positioning while leveraging shared resources and best practices.
  • Manages four direct reports.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED (KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 10+ years of marketing communications experience, preferably in healthcare, medical nutrition, or practitioner supplement industries.
  • Strong understanding of clinical communication standards and regulatory considerations.
  • Experience building scalable processes and managing communications across multiple stakeholders and brands.
  • Proven successful marketing to healthcare practitioners (MDs, NDs, DCs, nutritionists, functional medicine providers, etc.).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and agency partners.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in practitioner-focused or professional-grade supplement brands.
  • Familiarity with dietary supplement regulations and compliance considerations.
  • Experience working within a multi-brand or portfolio environment.
  • Familiarity with direct to consumer and ecommerce businesses.
  • Experience or interest in leveraging AI tools to drive efficiency.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive tasks such as typing and extended periods of computer screen time.
  • Handles competing priorities with professionalism and sound judgment.
