People Assistant

Remote · USA Full-time New today

We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented People Assistant to join our team. This role is unique because it balances two critical pillars of our people strategy: finding the right talent and ensuring our current team has a world-class employee experience. Reporting to the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition, you will spend approximately 50% of your time driving our recruitment engine and the other 50% supporting day-to-day HR operations and employee lifecycle management. Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition (50%)

  • Sourcing & Screening: Post job openings to various platforms, proactively headhunt candidates via LinkedIn, and conduct initial phone screenings to assess cultural and technical fit
  • Interview Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, scheduling all interview rounds and ensuring a seamless, high-touch candidate experience
  • Recruitment Marketing: Assist in building our employer brand by updating our careers page and social media presence
  • ATS Management: Maintain our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure data integrity and provide weekly reports on hiring pipelines

HR Operations & Generalist Support (50%)

  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Facilitate the new hire journey—from background checks and I-9 verification to leading first-day orientations and managing exit logistics
  • Compliance & Records: Maintain accurate digital employee files and ensure all practices align with local, state, and federal labor laws
  • Benefits & Payroll Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits enrollment, leave requests, and payroll discrepancies
  • Culture & Engagement: Assist in organizing team-building events, anniversary celebrations, and wellness initiatives to keep our culture thriving

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in an HR or Recruiting role
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a "people-first" attitude
  • Organization: The ability to pivot quickly between a high-volume interview schedule and meticulous data entry for payroll or compliance
  • Discretion: A proven track record of handling sensitive, confidential information with the utmost integrity
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Google and prior experience or HRIS (e.g., ADP) platforms
