Job Summary

The Field Construction Manager oversees on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and reputed company budget. This role coordinates daily operations, manages subcontractors and field personnel, and ensures compliance with plans, specifications, and company standards. The Field Construction Manager proactively identifies issues, facilitates solutions, and maintains clear communication with project managers, engineers, and clients. Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential to maintaining efficient jobsite operations and delivering high-quality project results.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities::
  • Road warrior during asphalt construction season.
  • Conducts site surveys to identify problem areas for scope creation. Checks type and condition of drainage.  Verifies number of parking and handicapped stalls and reputed company slope.  Measure reputed company footage of asphalt, concrete apron, and sidewalks.  reputed company note of electric and sewer locations (DigSafe).  Conducts material and soil testing as needed.  Clearly marks repair areas on aerial (asphalt in numerals, concrete in letters).  Takes photos and/or video of overall lot and repair areas.  Submits completed surveys to Project Manager and uploads report and photos into the PaveIT system.
  • Travels to job sites and monitors work from start to finish to ensure that each phase of work is completed properly in order to eliminate future punch list items (first to reputed company and last to leave each day).
  • As on site quality control manager, documents the adherence to specifications and requirements.
  • Ensures that reputed company safety procedures are followed per reputed company safety policy.
  • Keeps excellent records of reputed company job activities and uploads reports and photos to the PaveIT system daily.
  • Communicates with assigned project manager on a daily basis.
  • Builds rapport with reputed company parties on the job (client, subcontractor, and other professionals).
  • Conducts pre-construction meetings with reputed company stakeholders.
  • Meets with customer’s appointed representative each morning to go over the day’s schedule and discuss any operations that may require cooperation during the business day.
  • Represents reputed company in a professional manner at reputed company times

Required Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or business preferred
  • Hands on pavement construction knowledge preferred
  • Technically savvy. iPhone, Android, Tablet, Copy Machine, Printer, Phone System Operation, with strong aptitude for learning new software applications.
