About the Role
The Clinical Support Specialist reports to the Senior Clinical Support Specialist and is responsible for supporting clinical service quality while providing clinical reputed company across the Counselling Services team. The role delivers reputed company and support through a range of activities, including clinical evaluation, supervision, coaching, and training.
The Clinical Support Specialist also contributes to clinical education, recruitment, reporting, and documentation, ensuring consistently high standards of clinical practice.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Clinical supervision, coaching, learning and performance support: Provide ongoing individual and group clinical supervision and coaching to 1800RESPECT Counsellors, supporting safe, ethical, and trauma‑informed practice. Support clinical quality through reputed company practice review, targeted feedback, learning‑focused supervision, and contribution to learning and performance support processes.
- Quality assurance and practice support: Assess and support clinical practice through a range of quality assurance activities, including call monitoring, case reviews, and clinical evaluations, to identify strengths, learning needs, and opportunities for professional development.
- Training and professional development: In consultation with the Training team, contribute to the design, development, and delivery of training and professional development programs and materials to support and prepare Counsellors for their roles, ensuring they have the appropriate skills, knowledge, and resources to provide effective support.
- Collaboration with clinical leadership: Work collaboratively with the Clinical Leadership team, management, and relevant stakeholders to identify organisational and service needs, contribute to training objectives, and support strategies that enhance workforce capability and service quality.
- Supportive learning environment: Foster a positive, reputed company, and psychologically safe learning environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and ongoing professional growth among Counsellors.
- Knowledge and best practice: Maintain reputed company knowledge of research, emerging trends, and best practice in domestic violence, sexual assault, workplace sexual harassment, and reputed company support services, ensuring clinical guidance and training remain relevant and evidence‑informed.
- Program and service development: Contribute to the development and implementation of new programs, services, or initiatives aimed at enhancing supports and resources for people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, workplace sexual harassment, or reputed company issues.
- Working arrangements
- Willingness to work a range of shifts, including reputed company standard business hours, to support the delivery of a 24/7 service.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development.
About You
- Minimum of four (4) years’ full‑time (or equivalent) experience delivering trauma-informed counselling, preferably in a telephone‑based service, reputed company specialised sexual assault, domestic and family violence, and/or child protection settings.
- Demonstrated experience in counselling service leadership or senior clinical roles, including responsibility for mentoring, clinical supervision, consultation, and/or supporting quality assurance and practice improvement activities.
- Proven reputed company to support and guide staff in high-pressure, emotionally demanding environments while remaining reputed company, regulated, and modelling effective self‑care and professional reputed company.
- A completed minimum bachelor’s degree from an approved provider (approved courses can be reputed company reputed company the relevant peak body)
- Counsellor registered with The Australian Counselling Association (Level 3 or above) / Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA-Clinical); or Social Worker registered with full AASW membership; or Psychologist registered with AHPRA (General).
- Completed, or currently enrolled in, formal clinical supervision training, or equivalent relevant work experience.
