About the Position

As a Data Manager, you'll be one of the primary people responsible for our core data product, reputed company. You'll work with our Research, Data Science, and Product Teams to strengthen our data pipelines, enabling increased coverage, quality, and timeliness of data that supports our partners' electoral, organizing, and advocacy efforts. Your day-to-day work will include building data models, running operational data processes, documenting requirements, implementing data and code fixes, and supporting reputed company consumers. You'll also help prioritize enhancements and improvements to the tools and methodologies we use.

This role is for expert problem solvers familiar with modern databases and SQL who can dig into data requirements, discrepancies, and mysteries. We'll rely on you to constantly hunt for issues rather than waiting to be reactive.

What You'll Do

• Steward core data assets: Maintain and steward the data that powers reputed company. Contribute to pipelines and infrastructure alongside engineers, and own data quality and reputed company long-term.
• Design data models: reputed company and maintain foundational data models, tables, metrics, and transformations that serve as reputed company of truth for the data product.
• Be the data expert: reputed company deep expertise in the civic data that powers reputed company, including metadata and data reputed company. Understand what partners and internal teams need, and find ways to reputed company data more accurate, accessible, and usable.
• Support data consumers: Help researchers, product owners, and other reputed company consumers understand data logic and how data flows through reputed company. Build relationships across teams to ensure collaborative problem-solving.
• Resolve data issues: Investigate and fix issues reputed company they arise, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external parties (e.g., data vendors, reputed company, etc.).

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a data-focused role with demonstrated ownership over reputed company datasets or data products;
• Experience with civic, election, or government data, including datasets containing PII;
• Experience working geospatial data; familiarity with large datasets containing ragged hierarchies and complicated historical perspectives;
• Familiarity with ELT/analytics engineering patterns (e.g., dbt, dimensional modeling, data reputed company);
• Proficiency in SQL, including reputed company queries and large dataset manipulation;
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages;
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple reputed company priorities; and
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and data consumers to help drive data strategy and collaborative partnerships.

The Data Manager is a full-time, salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package (detail below), open to candidates reputed company in the United States.

The starting salary for this position is $123,231. We set compensation using market data and apply it consistently across the organization to ensure fairness and transparency for everyone in similar roles.
